CHARACTER NAME: Akira Nishikiyama
CANON & CANON POINT: Yakuza: Kiwami. After shooting Reina and Shinji in chapter 10.
AGE: 37
ABILITIES: A gun.

Beyond that, Nishikiyama is also a skilled fighter, very intelligent, and remarkably ambitious. He also heads up one of the largest organized crime families in Tokyo during his time and is a very large and influential presence in the criminal underworld, though he will likely be cut off from this network during his time in Shiokawa.
BIO: fweet
SUITABILITY: Nishikiyama is from a crime drama series which takes place in Japan, and he was a young man in the 80's, meaning that he would be very well acquainted with the more mundane aspects of the setting. Beyond his intellect and his skill with fighting, he also has no special powers which would make his presence in the plot problematic. Being a vicious crimelord, Nishikiyama has also stepped on many lives to achieve power, which leaves him rife with opportunities to exploit in a horror setting. Nishikiyama has allied himself with the Old God in this same endless pursuit of power and capital.

« QUESTIONS & SAMPLES »

WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER'S GREATEST STRENGTH? WHAT DO THEY THINK IT IS?: He would think that his greatest strength is his cunning, sharp mind. It has allowed him to outwit and outmaneuver various adversaries in his climb to the top of the food chain, and it allowed him to cast off what he thought was his greatest weakness; his bonds to others. In Nishikiyama's eyes, only once he could either manipulate or cast off those chains binding him others could he achieve his life's purpose. Though his mind is a powerful asset, his true strength lies in his overwhelming love for those he holds closest to him. His loyalty and love for others are what allow him to truly achieve great feats through his own doing, rather than through the manipulation of others, and what allows him to abandon the truly detrimental attachments he holds to achieve greatness.
IF YOUR CHARACTER WERE TO LEARN WHAT THE REWARDS WERE FOR ALLYING WITH A GOD, OR WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES WERE FOR REJECTING THEM, WOULD THEY REGRET THEIR CHOICE? IF THEY COULD RE-CHOOSE, WOULD THEY?: Nishikiyama would be glad of his choice, if he learned the consequences of rejection - and even that the decision mattered at all. To him, money and safety in a strange and otherworldly place would far outweigh the immediate consequences of rejection. He wouldn't be stupid enough to trust that this would be the end of the fallout of this choice, however. The first hurdle would be convincing him that his decision in a dream could have any real consequences, and that any god could have power over his circumstances. Once this is done, however, he would be cautiously happy with his choice, and he would be careful of any further negative consequence of his sacrifice.
IF YOUR CHARACTER FOUND A DOG CAUGHT IN A TRAP, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHIOKAWA FOREST FRAUGHT WITH MONSTERS AND HUNTERS AND OTHER ELDRITCH FUN, WOULD THEY HELP THE POOR CREATURE? OR WOULD THEY BE DISTRUSTFUL GIVEN THE SETTING AND THEREFORE UNSURE?: Distrustful. He wouldn't feel bad, either. Nishikiyama looks out for number one, and he hasn't come this far in his life by making exceptions. He wouldn't even spare any bullets to put it out of its misery before the horror caught up with it. If it wouldn't benefit him, he wouldn't take the time to help at the expense of himself.
